Hungarian births and deaths up in 2015
The number of births and deaths in Hungary rose during the first eleven months of 2015 on an annual basis, but the death rate outstripped the number of births, the Central Statistical Office (KSH) said on Tuesday.
Hungary’s population declined by 30,927 people during the period under survey. There were 83,763 births in January-November, 0.1 percent more than during the same period in 2014.
The number of deaths was 120,063, up by an annual 4.8 percent, KSH said. The number of marriages went up by an annual 17 percent to 43,190 during the period.
