The first team of professional cyclists with diabetes at the Milan-San Remo Race
For the first time ever, a team of professional cyclists with diabetes will tackle a World Tour race on March 22 at the 106th edition of the prestigious Milan-San Remo (nearly 300-kilometer). This is Team Novo Nordisk: Joonas Henttala (FIN), Nicolas Lefrançois (FRA), David Lozano (ESP), Javier Megias (ESP), Kevin De Mesmaeker (BEL), Andrea Peron (ITA), Charles Planet (FRA) Martijn Verschoor (NED).
An example of howthis disease, which affects 387 million people worldwide and more than 3 million in Italy (5.5% of the population), can be managed in an optimal manner and does not represent an obstacle to the achievement of ambitious goals. All thanks to advances in medicine, but especially topeople’s willpower.
The Team Novo Nordisk mission is to inspire, educate and empower people affected by diabetes. We ride. We run. We swim. We race to change diabetes.
