Anorexia is out of fashion on the catwalks of Copenhagen

Denmark beats all its European competitors and lays down the rules that the fashion world will have to follow to ensure the health and well-being of female and male models. This is not a government requirement but a deliberate choice by the union of the most important national agencies in the industry. The Danish Fashion Ethical Charter, being aware of the impact fashion has on the ideals of the body, has ruled that:

1) Designers must assess the psychological and physical condition of models in order to find potential eating disorders.

2) 16 years it is the minimum age for this job.

3) Under the age of 15 they can model or pose as children or adolescents, with appropriate clothes and accompanied by an adult.

4) Fashion houses have to pay models with a real salary in money and not with clothes, shoes and accessories from the fashion shows.

5) It recommended setting up short training courses on nutrition and mental health.
