Turkish holding is planning to buy Tokuda Sofia Hospital

IHH Healthcare Bhd’s subsidiary in Turkey, Acibadem Saglik Yatirimlari Holding, is said to be in talks to acquire a hospital and a clinic in Bulgaria.

According to newsreports, Acibadem is eyeing to buy the entire stake in Tokuda Sofia Hospital, which is the biggest private hospital in Bulgaria and a majority stake in City Clinic.

“We are always looking for suitable growth opportunities to boost our profile and will update the market accordingly,” said an IHH spokeperson, who declined to be quoted.

Tokuda is part of Japan’s Tokushukai Group.

The hospital was founded in 2006 with a bedcount of 1,016 presently.

For financial year ended Dec 31, 2015, IHH reported an increased net profit of RM933.9mil from RM754.29mil a year ago.

Revenue showed similar improvement at RM8.46bil compared to RM7.34bil the year before.
