Hungary: Paper names new secretary for healthcare

Budapest – Zoltan Onodi-Szucs, the director general of state health-care supplier AEEK, is slated to become the new state secretary for health care, daily Magyar Idok said on Saturday.

He is to replace Gabor Zombor, who resigned from the post at the end of August, citing personal and family reasons. Onodi-Szucs worked before as director of the Kenezy Hospital in Debrecen, in eastern Hungary, the daily said in its online edition.

He became a regional director of the state-owned health-care management institute GYEMSZI in February, 2012. He has worked as GYEMSZI’s director general since October 1, 2014, when the institute was renamed the State Health-Care Supplier Centre (AEEK). Onodi-Szucs would neither confirm nor deny being tapped for the post when asked by MTI.
