Hospital patients and employees lambaste Health Minister

The hospital employees complained to the Minister about the lack of a collective labor agreement.

The Minister of Health Adonis Georgiadis visited the “Papageorgiou” hospital in Thessaloniki on Thursday morning, where he came face to face with demonstrating hospital employees and patients.

The demonstrating employees argued that the hospital did not have a collective labor agreement in effect, since the previous one expired on the 31st of March and the hospital management refuses to sing a new one. When the media-savvy Health Minister came face to face with an employee informing him of their demands, he told him to “got get a PAME banner”.

Along with the hospital employees, patients also protested and complained about the long waiting hours. The Minister of Health, who was irritated by the criticism, responded “there is no hospital in the world without waiting” and “do not expect miracles”.
