Shortages in the Greek Health Sector
The health sector is registering shortages in a number of areas, including ambulance vehicles. In one case, in Istaia in Evia, a patient was transferred in a farm lorry.
The only ambulance that was available to the municipality was sent to Athens.
In another case, the Greek Coroners Association said that the dead in Messinia and Laconia, Peloponnese, need to be transferred to the morgue in Corinth at the relatives own expanses in order to be certified as dead. They said that it is shameful that a European country needs to certify the dead by distance.
