French mothers don’t love breastfeeding

In France, at six months of life, only one in four babies is still breastfed. A little percentage if compared to 33% in the Netherlands and 82% in Norway. Then, considering breastfeeding as the exclusive nutrition without any other integrative food, children are breastfed just for three weeks, according to half of the sample surveyed. Numbers a little bit debatable, since France is one of the European countries where women give birth more frequently. But also one of those where they breastfeed less frequently – explain researchers, who are trying to find out the true reasons behind this.

Yet, benefits of breastfeeding are well-known.

For mothers, the reduction of the risk of hypertension. For babies, a lower risk of developing ADHD
