Deadly Sticks Killing More Hungarians

Deadly Sticks Killing More Hungarians

Recent statistics show deplorable image of Hungarian smokers. Cigarette claims the annual death numbers of the population of a smaller Hungarian village, research statistics show. The last 13 years has seen the death of 275,000 Hungarians altogether. While the statistics are rather fruitful for men, as less of them die due to smoking, women are in a worse situation. The number of deaths among women has increased as the consequence of, as the Hungarian saying goes, “lighting on” one.

The freshest statistics of Hungarian Central Statistical Office (KSH) have revealed how harmful habit smoking is. Basically smoking undermines the maximum lifespan expected at birth. KSH statistical review draws attention on the fact that one sixth of excess mortality is caused by the habit of smoking.

Strictly speaking about statistics, hardly anyone dies of smoking under the age of 35. The majority of death cases under this age are among infants being exposed to mothers with nicotine addiction. The highest number of deaths caused by smoking is experienced between the ages of 75 and 84.

Women tend to live up to their reputation of being the weaker sex, in this particular case at least, as the death rate is increasing among them as compared to men, who see a decline in the numbers of deaths caused by the glowing stick.

The statistics exploring the deaths of men was four times more than women in 2000. These numbers have significantly changed in the favour of men as in 2012 only twice as many men as women died of smoking cigarettes. According to experts, the present statistics suggest the disappearance of the threshold between men and women roles in our modernised society.

Smoking, in the majority of the cases, inevitably causes tumorous diseases (mainly lung cancer), leads to the development of circulatory and cardiovascular impairments as well as it increases the chances for the appearance of chronic diseases.

Based on these terrifying and dissatisfying statistics Hungarians should really consider whether they obey the urge to buzz when it might sacrifice their lives.
