Portuguese birth rate on rise

Portugal’s birth rate rose slightly last year for the first time after three years of sharp drops, and has continued to rise this year.

A report by newspaper Público has revealed that during the first quarter of 2015, 9,656 babies were born in Portugal, 84 more than during the same period of 2014. However, specialists have warned that it is still too early to know whether the reversal will be sustained.
